For 15 years, he led editorial operations for The Echo, an independent regional newspaper in Byron Shire, directing planning, research, commissioning, editing, quality assurance and pre-press delivery, and applying governance controls across accuracy, evidence, attribution, privacy, conflicts, legal risk, complaints and corrections. He supervised and mentored journalists, freelancers and contributors, and served as a primary relationship point for government, elected representatives, legal advisers, regulators and community organisations.
He is currently providing research, communications and drafting support to the office of NSW Ballina MP Tamara Smith, alongside pursuing substantive roles in communications, engagement, governance or project delivery.
